pouncing on my feet

There is no need to keep pouncing
on the lumps in the covers.
There aren't any mice under these covers.
We probably wouldn't be sleeping here
if there were any evidence of rodents in the bed.
Doesn't it seem strange that they only appear
when we are in the bed?
